Faith believes in an holistic approach to living, where the wellbeing of the body, the mind, and the spirit are addressed in the healing process.

What is Innerfaith Therapy?

"Innerfaith" simply means finding faith within. Faith's philosophy of healing is based on her own healing process and her life experience. She believes the root of healing of any kind lies in accepting and believing in your whole self: body/mind/spirit. When you do, you are more aligned to make healthy choices and to understand that your experience is directly shaped by these choices. From this position of strength, you can heal the past and create the future of your dreams.

The phrase "Integrative Healing Arts" reflects Faith's philosophy that it is essential to explore all aspects of ourselves – physical, mental and emotional, and spiritual – and to integrate these aspects into a comprehensive wellness program.

"My diverse training in talk, touch, and movement therapies enables me to guide clients in weaving together all facets of their being, and tailor a unique program for their healing and personal growth."

The combination of life experience and professional training come into play in Faith's offering of a holistic and practical approach to wellbeing. As a teenager, she encountered physical, psychological, and emotional challenges. Her own healing process inspired her life's work and the development over more than twenty years of her unique, signature approach to aiding others.

Faith understands that every person's experience is unique, and so their healing process will be too. She works in partnership with you to develop a program that suits your unique needs. Together you will determine the pace and modalities that will give you the highest potential to find alignment of your body, mind, and spirit for optimum wellbeing.

"If a tree is planted, rooted, grounded deep in the earth, it has more resilience as the storms of life blow through, just like our emotional system when it reacts to life on life’s terms – terms, like the weather, that we cannot control. People come to see me to experience more peace, to gain confidence in their ability to be here, and to be here as fully functioning, healthy human beings.

Trees teach us that no matter what storms may come, there’s a way to develop resilience. And one of the ways we become resilient is to learn how to ground, how to be here on this earth – by working on the earth, by respecting the earth, by appreciating what the plant kingdom teaches us.

This has huge importance in being healthy, to take part in that reverence for nature and for how the earth provides us with the ability to gain resilience and tolerance. We can’t do that if we’re not aware of our bodies."

Healing Arts Training

Faith has been practicing her signature blend of life-enhancing modalities for more than twenty years. In addition to her public service and private practice, Faith offers workshops and lectures.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Faith has a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, earned at Antioch Graduate School in Keene, New Hampshire.

In her first years as a pyschotherapist, Faith developed a program called Skillful Recovery. She works in a group setting with people who are in treatment for co-ocurring disorders. (A combination of mental health and substance abuse disorders.)

SKILLFUL RECOVERY PROGRAM

In her Skillful Recovery Program program, Faith incorporates multiple modalities in which she's been trained including:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and as well as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and BK Work, which is the work (self inquiry and expressive writing) of Byron Katie.

Both EFT and BK Work are experiential, and Faith believes "that is the only way to truly heal and cultivate change."

MENTAL HEALTH & SUBSTANCE ABUSE

Faith holds an advanced certification in addictions, and is trained in Trauma and Addiction and Mindfulness Practice.

She offers her mental health and substance abuse services through ServiceNet in Pittsfield and Greensfield, Massachusetts, and in Northampton, where she facilitates her Skillful Recovery Program.

ACUPRESSURE

Faith is a professional Acupressurist, certified through the New England Institute for Integrative Acupressure.

The foundation of Faith's work is her belief that all aspects need to be addressed in the healing process: body, mind, and spirit. She uses acupressure treatment as just one part of that healing process, and may or may not include it in any one client's program.

INTEGRATIVE BREATHWORK

Faith is certified in Integrative Breathwork, Psycho-spiritual Facilitation, and Soul-Based Therapy through the Eupsychia Institute, founded by Jacquelyn Small.

QI-GONG

Faith practices and teaches Qi-Gong, a moving meditation that stimulates and sedates the meridians or energy pathways that run through the body.

MARTIAL ARTS & DANCE

Faith's significant background in dance and martial arts contribute to her multi-faceted approach.
